Highlights and Special Features
"Namtok Long Ru" Characteristics: The special feature of this waterfall is that the water doesn't just flow down from a cliff face. Instead, it flows through a large sandstone chimney, resembling a hole or cavity, into the cliff face below, creating a unique and beautiful sight. The waterfall's name comes from the way the water flows through the large hole. Formed by water erosion, it's incredibly beautiful and unseen. The name "Saeng Chan Waterfall" comes from the mist that flows through the rocks, resembling moonlight.
Origin of the name "Saeng Chan Waterfall": This name comes from a natural phenomenon that occurs at the right time:
On the night of the full moon (15th day of the waxing moon): Moonlight shines directly into the rocks, making the misty water appear a soft white, resembling moonlight.
During the day: If you visit when the sunlight shines directly into the rocks, you'll also see the waterfall as a white stream.
How it was created: This waterfall was formed by a small stream flowing over a rocky platform. Natural erosion of water and gravel during the rainy season has caused the lower rock layers to break away, creating a large rock crater.
Best time to visit:
When is the best time to visit?: It's usually recommended to visit between October and January, which is the end of the rainy season and into winter. The waterfall has a moderate amount of water, not too much. The water flowing through the holes creates a beautiful mist.
