Wat Ton Son | Ang Thong
Wat Ton Son was royally granted on 14 August 1942. It is situated on the west side of Chao Phraya River. This ancient temple was built in the late period of Ayutthaya era about 1767. It is assumed that the temple was constructed in that period because the former monastery was decorated with Bua On and Kan Tuai pattern. However, there is no record about it. The history is from the saying of the elderly. The temple was deteriorated and almost became the deserted temple since there was no venerable thing. In 1945, Phra Racha Suwan Moli, the former leading abbot of Ang Thong Province, The temple is open daily from 8.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m.
Wat Chaiyo Worawihan| Ang Thong
Wat Chaiyo Worawihan is a second ranked royal monastery, classified as worawihan, under the clergy of Maha-Nikaya, located to the east of Chao-Praya River. Number 21 Mu 3 Sub-District Chaiyo, District of Chaiyo in Ang Thong province. It was established in 1757 and was granted land from the King in 1890 where, later on, the temple was founded a royal monastery, 1887. Wat Chaiyo Worawihan or known as Wat Ket Chaiyo (known to be Wat Ket Chaiyo by the locals) originally a Rattanakosin constructed during the Ayutthaya period with anonymous creators. The temple became popular when Somdet Phra Phutthachan (To Phrom-rungsi) of Wat Kositaram arrived and built an exceptionally large Buddha image during the reign of King Rama IV of Krung Ratanakosin

Tambon Ekkarat Drum-Making Village is located in Tambon Ekkarat, behind Pa Mok market on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. From time to time, drum shops can be found on both sides of the road. People of Ban Phae have begun producing drums since 1927 after the harvesting season. The raw materials used are cowhide and raintree wood because its texture is soft and able to be dug easily. We can observe drum-making procedures starting from lathing wood, laying cowhide sheet, and embedding pins. We can find sophisticated and magnificent drums here in various sizes, good for souvenirs. If you go passing the Tambon chief (Hongfah Yodyoi)’s house, you will find the largest drum in the world of 36” 92 centimeters wide and 7.6 meters long,
Wat Khun Inthapramun | Ang Thong
Wat Khun Inthapramun is ancient temple that was constructed during the Sukhothai period, its vast size still outlined by brick ruins. The largest and longest reclining Buddha statue in Thailand, 50 meters from topknot to feet, is enshrined here. Originally, the reclining Buddha image was housed in the image hall, or Wihan, but after a fire raged through the temple, the image was abandoned to the elements for hundreds of years. Many Thai kings have paid homage to the image, including King Borommakot in 1753, King Rama V in 1878 and 1908, as well as the current king, who presented royal Kathin robes in 1973 and 1975. Inside an all-purpose pavilion, there is a statue of Khun Inthapramun (a much-storied figure) as well as his presumed remains. According to legend,

There, you will witness the beauty of the biggest Buddha statue in Thailand, and the 4th biggest in the world. Wat Muang is an ancient temple built since the late Ayutthaya era. At that time, Ang Thong was the outpost city famous for religion, art and sculpture. During the second fall of Ayutthaya, Ang Thong was burnt down and then rebuilt again. Luang Por Yai, the Buddha statue with the 63 meters width, and 95 meters height had been built to be the biggest Buddha statue in Thailand.
Wat Sangkratai | Ang Thong
Wat Sang Kratai is located in Ang Thong City about two km west of the city centre. It’s a very old temple, more 400 years old, constructed in the Ayutthaya period. Then it was abandoned for more than 100 years, some records even state 200 years! When worshippers returned to this temple, they found only ruins. The ruins of the ubosot (ordination hall) however are buttressed by four Pho trees at the corners and along the walls holding up the crumbling building. The ubosot was roofless but shaded by the leafy boughs of the Pho trees.
