Wat Ratchaorosaram Ratchaworawihan (Chom Thong)
The temples in Bangkok that I have seen have a mixture of Chinese art, such as Wat Kalayanamit, Wat Thepthidaram, Wat Phichaiyati, etc., which I used to be surprised to see before. However, when I learned the history, this style of temple was considered the "royal preference" of King Nangklao, Rama III, who liked Chinese style and liked to mix it with Thai temples all the time. Therefore, whenever I see a temple with a Chinese atmosphere, I believe that it must be related to Rama III in some way.
This temple is in the art and architecture inside the temple, which was built according to the royal preference of Rama III. As mentioned earlier, he liked Chinese art. The ordination hall and the various temples do not have gables, bai raka, or hang hongs because he saw that they were easily damaged and took a long time to make. Therefore, the gable is plain and decorated with glazed tiles in flower or animal patterns such as swans or dragons in the Chinese style. Wat Ratchaorosaram is considered the first temple that he adapted Chinese art into Thai temples.
