Wat Khao Tham Prathun, located in Thap Luang Subdistrict, Ban Rai District, Uthai Thani Province, is a beautiful temple with unique and distinctive Buddhist art, especially the intricate wood carvings used for decoration. This has made it a significant landmark in Uthai Thani Province. The temple's main feature is its root-built ordination hall. This beautiful piece of wood carving utilizes the roots of various trees including teak, mahogany, rosewood, and Lagerstroemia indica. The carvings depict images of the Buddha, Guanyin, Phra Siwali, Phra Sangkatchai, Ganesha, Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, famous monks, and other figures such as golden and silver dragons and the Hadsadiling bird. Visitors can also climb 700 concrete steps to worship the Buddha's footprint at the top of the hill and enjoy the stunning panoramic views. Highlights: Wood Carved Ordination Hall: Considered the temple's most prominent feature, the ordination hall is adorned with intricate and beautiful wood carvings depicting stories from the Buddha's life and Thai literature. Rare to see nowadays.
Phra Narai Cave: Inside the temple is a clean and peaceful cave, housing a Buddha statue for tourists and pilgrims to worship and pray for blessings. The air inside is cool and comfortable throughout the year.
Tree Roots and Ancient Wood: The area around the temple is beautifully decorated with large tree roots and petrified wood, reflecting faith and the preservation of nature.
Shady Atmosphere: The temple is situated amidst mountains and lush greenery, creating a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for making merit and relaxing the mind.

From Uthai Thani city, take the road towards Ban Rai district (Highway 333). The temple is located not far from other tourist attractions in Ban Rai district, such as Pang Sawan Dam. Or Wat Tham Khao Wong
