Wat Pa Lelaiyok or Wat Pha Ok is an ancient temple from the Ayutthaya period. It is located in Lat Ya Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi. Inside the temple, there are important ancient sites: a pavilion with a standing Buddha image in the Pa Lelaiyok posture, with niches for standing Buddhas on 3 sides. Currently, Wat Pa Lelaiyok is included in the ancient sites of the old city of Kanchanaburi.
Wat Pa Lelaiyok is located in Lat Ya Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. This area used to be a frontier town to block the Burmese army from the early Ayutthaya period to the early Rattanakosin period. The original name that the villagers called it was "Wat Pha Ok" because there used to be a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya posture that was damaged due to being stolen by piercing the chest of the Buddha to find treasure. Later, it was restored.
There are niches for standing Buddhas on the north, south, and west sides. The entrance is on the east side. Inside the pavilion is a large stucco Buddha statue in the Pa Lelai posture, with monkeys and elephants kneeling on both sides. The chapel is made of rectangular brick and mortar, 7 meters wide, 20 meters long and 3 meters high.
There are two entrances on the east side. The chapel is situated on a rectangular base, 10 meters wide, 22 meters long and 1.4 meters high. On the north and south sides, there are stairs leading up to the chapel, 1.20 meters wide. Chedi
Outside the glass wall is a round brick and mortar chedi, situated on a square base, 5 meters wide on each side and 1.50 meters high. Chedi
It is a round brick and mortar chedi, plastered with cement. The top is broken off. The remaining height is about 7.5 meters. The chedi is situated on a square green base, 8 meters wide on each side. On the south side of the chedi is an octagonal ancient site base. Diameter 8 meters, height 40 centimeters
The glass wall is made of bricks, 27 meters wide, 55 meters long, and about 1 meter thick. There are entrances on the east and north sides, each door is 1 meter wide. On the south side of the glass wall, there is a rectangular base, 2 meters wide and 3 meters long.
