Wat Phra That Chang Kham
Wat Phra That Chang Kham Worawihan was originally called "Wat Luang" or "Wat Luang Klang Wiang". It is located opposite the Nan National Museum (Ho Kham), Tambon Nai Wiang, Amphoe Mueang Nan, Nan Province. The ruler of Nan, Phraya Phu Kheng, built it in 1949. It is a temple that is more than 600 years old. The principal Buddha image is a large stucco Buddha image in the Chiang Saen style, made by Nan craftsmen with beautiful characteristics of Nan. Phra Chao Luang is a Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, sitting cross-legged, made of stucco and covered with gold leaf. The lap width is 4.50 meters and the height is 6 meters in the Lanna style. It is enshrined in the royal chapel of Wat Phra That Chang Kham and is the Buddha image of Nan Province.
It is revered by the people of Nan as sacred. In addition to its beauty, it also has a sangkhati molded in a flower stem pattern. Decorated with beautiful glass, the base of the altar is in the shape of a three-headed eaves. In the chapel is a bronze standing Buddha statue in the attitude of granting forgiveness, which is around the second half of the 19th Buddhist century, corresponding to the late Sukhothai period. It is similar to the Buddha statue in the attitude of granting forgiveness at Wat Ratchathani, Sukhothai Province.
