Hat Hong is a large sand dune formed by the flow and accumulation of sand sediment from the Mekong River. It becomes prominently visible during the dry season (around December to May) when the Mekong River recedes. The sand dunes are long, white, and steep in some places. It truly resembles a desert.
Hong Beach is located near the famous Sam Phan Bok tourist attraction. Tourists often charter boats to visit these attractions.
