Tourist Attractions and Highlights (Highlights)
Kaeng Tana:
Large rapids: These are the largest group of rapids in the Mun River. They are formed when the Mun River meets Don Tana (an island in the middle of the river). The river splits into two before joining. This creates a strong current that erodes the sandstone, creating the beautiful rapids.
Origin of the name: Originally, it is said to come from the word "death," due to the rapids that often cause accidents. Later, it evolved into "Tana," a Khmer word meaning "animal trap."
Bok/Rock Pits: During the dry season when water levels are low, sandstone boulders are visible, with "bok" or holes of various sizes created by water erosion, similar to the phenomenon at Sam Phan Bok.
Kaeng Tana Suspension Bridge
The longest suspension bridge in Isan: This is an important viewpoint and a highlight for photography. Clear views of the Mun River, Don Tana River, and the surrounding forest are possible.
Tad Ton Waterfall
A large waterfall that is part of the national park (check water levels during the dry season).
