Location: Ban Phaniat, Nam Taeng Subdistrict, Si Mueang Mai District, Ubon Ratchathani Province (located at the foot of Phu Pang Mountain)
Type: Forest Temple of the Meditation Sect (Thammayut)
History and Background (Brief):
Construction began around 1993 by Luang Por Phra Thep Mongkol Yan Wi. (Santi Analayo), abbot of Wat Phutthabucha, Bangkok.
Thudongkasathan: This temple was once the pilgrimage site of Luang Pu Man Phurithatto.
Key Highlights of the Temple The Luminous Naga (Three Naga) Statue: This is the most important landmark and is considered The only luminous Naga in Thailand. At night, the large Naga can glow, creating a mystical atmosphere and attracting great devotion.
Phra Phuttha Maha Chakkraphat Thanphon Songkhrueang: This is the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall and is said to be the most beautiful in Ubon Ratchathani Province.
