The Sunthorn Phu Monument was built to honor Phra Sunthorn Wohan (Phu), or Sunthorn Phu, who visited the area as a young man and composed Nirat Mueang Klaeng. The monument also features cast sculptures of Phra Aphai Mani, Nang Phisuea Samut, and Nang Ngueak.
The Sunthorn Phu Monument is an important monument built to honor Phra Sunthorn Wohan (Phu), or Sunthorn Phu, the greatest poet of the Rattanakosin period and a world-renowned poet. Legend has it that this area was the birthplace of Sunthorn Phu's father.

History and Features
Location: Originally an abandoned temple (Wat Pa Kram), Sunthorn Phu's birthplace.
Construction: Construction began in 1955, but was completed and officially opened on May 25, 1970.
Main Statue: The monument features a seated statue of Sunthorn Phu composing a poem. There are also statues of characters from the literary epic Phra Aphai Mani, which is his masterpiece:

This monument is considered an important source of literary and historical knowledge and a must-see landmark when visiting Klaeng District, Rayong Province.
