Wat Khok Kham, built during the Ayutthaya period, features a Maha-ut chapel and beautifully carved wooden pediment, a distinctly Ayutthaya architectural style. It also houses Luang Pho Samrit, Phra Phuttha Sihing, an early Chiang Saen Buddha image over 300 years old. Considered the sacred Buddha image of Samut Sakhon Province, it is enshrined at this temple and one of the four temples.
This ancient temple is of historical and archaeological significance, dating back to the Ayutthaya period around 2222 CE. It is located in Khok Kham Subdistrict, Mueang Samut Sakhon District.
This temple is famous for its connection to the legend of Phan Thay Norasing and for its sacred Buddha image. It also boasts fascinating ancient architecture.
Interesting Attractions and Sacred Objects
Phra Phuttha Sihing (Luang Pho Samrit): This is an important Buddha image, known locally as "Luang Pho Samrit" is said to be the fourth Phra Buddha Sihing in Thailand, and is the sacred Buddha image of Samut Sakhon Province.
Old Ubosot: This late Ayutthaya architecture is characterized by the exquisite wood carvings on the pediment. The building retains its ancient and mystical appearance.
Antiques related to Phan Thay Norasing: This temple houses many antiquities believed to be connected to the legend of Phan Thay Norasing, such as parts of the royal barge Ekkachai and the original San Phiang Ta.
Phan Thay Norasing Shrine: Although the main shrine is located nearby, Wat Khok Kham also houses shrines to Chao Pho Suea and Phan Thay Norasing for the public to pay homage.

Wat Khok Kham is therefore an ideal destination for those interested in learning about the history and art of the late Ayutthaya period. And pay homage to the city's sacred Buddha image for good fortune.
