Nong Bua Lamphu tourist attractions: Erawan Cave | Nong Bua Lamphu
Erawan Cave, or Pha Tham Chang, is a beautiful natural attraction in Nong Bua Lamphu. It is a limestone cave located on a large mountain, shaped like a crouching elephant. It is also the origin of the local legend of Nang Phom Hom.
This natural attraction is notable for its stalactites and stalagmites, as well as stone statues related to the legend of Nang Phom Hom. It also houses the sacred Buddha image, "Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Chai Si Maha Muni Sri Lokanath." Visitors must climb over 600 steps to enter the cave.
Getting there:
Highway 210: Take Highway 210 from Nong Bua Lamphu City, heading towards Loei Province for approximately 60 kilometers. At Ban Non Phu Thong, Wang Thong Subdistrict, turn right and continue for approximately 3 kilometers. You will reach a large mountain resembling a crouching elephant, home to Erawan Cave.

Stalactites and stalagmites
The cave is a vast hall decorated with beautiful and unusually shaped stalactites and stalagmites.
Legend of Nang Phom Hom
The various rock formations within the cave are linked to the local legend of "Nang Phom Hom," which tells the story of the elephant king and Nang Phom Hom.
Star Chimneys
The roof of the cave features three star chimneys, which shine light downward, creating a beautiful and popular photo spot.
Buddha Statues
At the entrance of the cave is a large Buddha statue, "Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Chai Si Maha Muni Sri Loknath."
Viewpoint
The cave has a passageway leading to a cliff, offering a panoramic and beautiful view of the surrounding area.
