Wat Saket, Suwannaphum District | Roi Et Province
Wat Saket is home to the Twin Sims, an ancient ubosot (ordination hall) built during the late Ayutthaya period, during the time when the Tai-Lao cultural community settled there. These twin ubosots are beautifully carved with the image of Rahu swallowing the moon and floral patterns typical of Tai-Lao culture.
The vihara is solid and the front porch is decorated with wooden ornaments and is carved with the image of Rahu swallowing the moon and floral patterns. The other sim is a high-based, open building with a carved front porch.
Wat Saket is located in Nam Kham Subdistrict, Suwannaphum District, Roi Et Province.
