Wat Phra Non Chaksi Worawihan (Wat Phra Non Chaksi Worawihan) | Sing buri

Wat Phra Non Chaksi Worawihan (Wat Phra Non Chaksi Worawihan) | Sing buri
Wat Khu Ban Khu Mueang Sing Buri is a third-class royal temple, believed to have been built by King U Thong before Ayutthaya became the capital. Inside the large viharn is a reclining Buddha image in the posture of supplication to the Asura Indrahu, modeled after Sukhothai Buddha images. This large and long reclining Buddha image in the country measures 47 meters and 42 centimeters (1 sen 3 wa 2 sok 1 cubit 7 inches).
The Phra Khan and Phra Kaew images were built during the reign of King Rama V and were used as the principal Buddha images during the oath-taking ceremony for government officials. The temple grounds are divided into sections, with ample roads and parking. Pavillions line the roads for relaxation, as well as shops selling food and souvenirs. At the entrance to the viharn is a large Ceylon sala tree, an important tree in the life of the Buddha.
