Japanese Village Ayutthaya, retracing the footsteps of the Japanese people in Thailand | Ayutthaya
The Japanese Village in Ayutthaya is a memorial between Thailand and Japan. It presents the history, lifestyle, livelihood, occupation, and religion of the people in the Japanese Village during the Ayutthaya period. Around the 16th century, the King of Thailand granted permission for the Japanese to settle in Ayutthaya. As a result, the number of Japanese people living in Ayutthaya has increased to 1,000-1,500 people. Currently, the Japanese Village has received cooperation from the Thai-Japanese Association to help maintain it.
