Wat Pak Nam Cho Lo, Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province
Wat Pak Nam Cho Lo is located on the banks of the Bang Pakong River in Pak Nam Subdistrict, Bang Khla District, Chachoengsao Province. It was built during the late Ayutthaya period, approximately 200 years ago.
The name "Cho Lo" originates from King Taksin's strategy of attacking the Burmese army. He sailed his boat down the river to lull the Burmese soldiers into a false sense of security, then surrounded and attacked them with ambush, ultimately achieving victory. The name "Cho Lo" (meaning "Lord of Sailing") later evolved into "Cho Lo." The temple's main chapel is unique in Thailand, painted entirely gold, both inside and out. It is a magnificent and breathtaking sight.
