The Billion Stone Pagoda, Phu Phanom Di Temple | Amnat Charoen
Wat Phu Phanom Di is a temple situated on a small hill. Inside, you'll find a beautiful chedi made of laterite stone, towering over 39 meters high, as well as a Buddha statue made of cement. The most striking feature is the Billion Stone Chedi, constructed from concrete and decorated with numerous small gray and white stones, including the walls, ceiling, and various other sculptures. This chedi is not constructed of cement or brick, but rather a collection of stones, hand-built by villagers, one by one, resulting in the magnificent and beautiful chedi we see today. This truly remarkable sculpture is a testament to the power of faith and unity of the community.

Special Features: The chedi is constructed from small stones stacked into various shapes, particularly the main chedi, which is remarkably majestic.
Other Sculptures: In addition to the chedi, the temple also features numerous other intriguing stone sculptures, such as the Lion's Ship, built to store water for construction. There is also a beautifully carved reclining Buddha image in the middle of the boat.
