Wat Phutthaisawan According to legend, King Ramathibodi I (King U Thong) built it in the area where his pavilion was located when he migrated to settle before establishing Ayutthaya as the capital. This place is named in the Royal Chronicles as "Wiang Lek or Wiang Lek Subdistrict". After establishing Ayutthaya, in 1896, he ordered the construction of this temple as a royal memorial in the subdistrict where he originally settled. Later kings must have ordered the construction of many more permanent structures. Furthermore, when the capital was lost in 1767, Wat Phutthaisawan was another temple that was not destroyed by the Burmese like other temples. Today, there are still many ancient sites to see.
During the Ayutthaya period, this temple was a large and famous royal temple. It is also another temple that was not destroyed by the enemy like other temples. This makes it so that today there are still many beautiful ancient sites.
King Ramathibodi I or King U Thong built Wat Phutthaisawan in the area where his pavilion was located when he migrated to settle before establishing Ayutthaya as the capital. Inside the temple, there are interesting things such as the large main prang in Khmer art style. There are two pavilions to the north and south. Inside the pavilion is the main Buddha image and the palace of Somdej Phra Buddhakosajarn. Somdej Phra Buddhakosajarn was a senior monk during the Ayutthaya period.
