Si Satchanalai Historical Park is located in Village No. 6, Si Satchanalai Subdistrict, Si Satchanalai District, Sukhothai Province. It is a flat area along the Yom River with three mountain ranges surrounding the city, resembling a natural fortress.
There are both river plains and hillsides, making it very fertile. In addition, the natural fortress is also used to protect against enemies.
Human settlements have existed since prehistoric times, or around the 9th Buddhist century. It has developed into a contemporary community of the Dvaravati period around the 11th-16th Buddhist centuries. In the 18th Buddhist century, there is still evidence at Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat Cheliang.
