Wat Khuhasawan Worawihan is currently a third-class royal temple. Let's learn about the history of this temple. Let me start with Story 1: Wat Khuhasawan has been around since the Ayutthaya period. At that time, it was called "Wat Sala Si Na". It was a community temple for the villagers in this area, but there is no evidence of the temple's builder and it was granted the Visungkhamasima in 2320 during the Thonburi period when King Taksin the Great ruled.
During the Rattanakosin Kingdom, King Buddha Yodfa Chulalok the Great graciously established Wat Sala Si Na again and gave the name from Wat Sala Si Na to "Wat Khuhasawan Worawihan" as a royal temple.
Wat Khuhasawan Worawihan was originally called "Wat Sala Si Na". It is an ancient temple built since the time when Ayutthaya was the capital. However, there is no evidence of who built it.
▪️ The remaining things that show the Ayutthaya period are the carved wooden pediments on both the front and back of the ordination hall.
▪️ The small pediment wings on the roof, with two levels on each side, are the work of craftsmen from the Ayutthaya period. The sima leaves are a pair of sima leaves made of red sandstone.
