Cafe Narasingh , Cafes in Ratchathewi | Bangkok
The Phaya Thai Palace Conservation Foundation has opened the new Narasingh Coffee Shop to reminisce and accommodate visitors to the Phaya Thai Palace, using the original royal carriage building located in front of the Phiman Chakri Throne Hall.
“Phaya Thai Palace” is an old palace built during the reign of King Rama V. His Majesty ordered it to be built as a small royal residence and continued until the reign of King Rama VI, who invited Phra Sri Patcharindra, the Queen Mother, to reside there until her death. After that, he had the idea to demolish many palaces and build new throne halls, establishing it as the Phaya Thai Palace.
The tall tower of Phiman Chakri Throne Hall is considered a prominent feature of the Phaya Thai Palace. The top dome is used to raise the Maharat flag when the monarch is in the palace.
The coffee shop is a brick and mortar building, but the interior is made of wood and decorated with wooden furniture, including doors, windows, cabinets, tables, chairs, handles, locks, high ceilings, and intricate patterns on the ceiling, along with beautiful antique decorations such as a radio. The place is very clean. There is a bathroom separate from the shop.
Parking It is a bit difficult to find parking on weekdays because there are a lot of people coming to Phramongkutklao Hospital. You can take public transportation to Victory Monument and walk.
The shop is open every day. Monday-Friday, 8:00 - 18:00 Saturday-Sunday, 8:30 - 18:00 (Updated March 2023)
You may organize a program to visit the Phaya Thai Palace. On Saturday-Sunday,
there will be a guide to guide you through the palace twice a day, at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., each round lasting 2 hours.
