Huay Mongkol Temple enshrined the largest statue of Luang Pho Thuat in the world. It was originally called "Wat Huai Khot", located in Ban Huai Khot Community, Thap Tai Sub-district, Hua Hin District, Prachuap Khiri Khan. Later, the King gave a new name to this temple, from Huai Khot as Huai Mongkhon.
Because when he came to this temple, the idea was to build a new road, from dirt road to paved road by giving the same name as the name of the temple. Luang Por Thuat, a large Buddha image with a lap width of 9.9 meters, 11.5 meters high, and a 3-storey base. The first floor is 70 meters wide, 70 meters long, standing majestically against the horizon. Calm in the center of the temple, look up and you will feel his aura extending down to the people who believe in goodness and his teachings that have been left for future generations to carry on.
This place is very popular with Thai people from all over the country who come to pay homage to Luang Por Thuad and ask for blessings such as good luck, good health, wealth and happiness.
Beside the giant statue is a large wooden elephant. Villagers walk in a circle under the elephant's belly to ask for good luck. In addition, within the area there is a Buddhist temple, a statue of King Taksin the Great on horseback, and a shop selling Buddhist amulets.
