It is a viewpoint located on a small hill to the northwest of Phuket Town. It was originally called Khao Lang because it was located behind the town.
The hill is of a good height, allowing a clear view of the town, the sea, and the mountains. The municipality has therefore developed a health park and a public park.
It is home to the monument of Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi, Ko Simbi Na Ranong, the former governor of Phuket who once ruled 7 southern provinces: Phuket, Trang, Phang Nga, Krabi, Takua Pa, Ranong, and Satun.
