Wat Rong Khun or White Temple @ChiangRai | Chiang Rai
Wat Rong Khun, also known as the “White Temple,” is one of the most famous temples in Thailand. The temple outside Chiang Rai city center attracts a large number of tourists, both Thai and foreign, making it one of the most popular tourist attractions in Chiang Rai.

Wat Rong Khun is the work of Chalerm Chaikositpipat, a Chiang Rai artist and painter. It is said that there was an abandoned temple in this area. In 1867, the first group of villagers settled in this area and established a community called Wat Rong Khun, which was later renamed Ban Rong Khun. In 1964, the villagers built a church, which later became Wat Khao.
Chalermchai has made Chiang Rai the only tourist city in the 21st century. Wat Rong Khun is the only world-famous tourist attraction in Chiang Rai Province.
