Erawan Museum
The Erawan Museum is a freestanding sculpture of a three-headed elephant, the first and largest freestanding sculpture created by hand-knocking. It is considered an important and sacred tourist attraction that should not be missed in Samut Prakan Province.
The Erawan Museum was first constructed in 1994 and officially opened to the public in 2003. The elephant and its supporting building are 43.6 meters high (equivalent to a 14-story building), 12 meters wide, 39 meters long, 150 tons of body weight, and 100 tons of head weight. Copper sheets cover the entire outside of the elephant, using copper sheets approximately 1.2 millimeters thick, and come in various sizes, from 4x8 feet to the smallest sheet the size of a palm. Knock and decorate hundreds of thousands of pieces with meticulousness
