The Red Bridge (Saphan Daeng) & Chao Pho Matchanu Shrine | Samut Sakhon
The Red Bridge, also known as the "Dolphin-Watching Point" (or simply the Red Bridge viewpoint), is located in Tambon Phanthai Norasing, Mueang Samut Sakhon District, Samut Sakhon Province. It serves as a popular landmark and tourist destination near Bangkok.
Highlights
• Seagull Watching: From November to May each year, flocks of migratory seagulls—escaping the cold in Siberia and Tibet—arrive in the area. Visitors can observe them and take close-up photographs.
(Bringing a hat is recommended.)
• Dolphin Watching: As the name suggests, this is a spot where dolphins can occasionally be sighted, typically when the cool seasonal winds blow into the Gulf of Thailand (between November and January).
(Note: Sightings are currently quite rare.)
• Food and Shops: Near the entrance, there are community stalls and local vendors selling dried seafood, snacks, and beverages at affordable prices.
• Nearby Attractions: Visitors can pay their respects at the Chao Pho Matchanu Shrine, a sacred site deeply revered by the local community.
