Wat Phra Borommathat Tak | Tak
Wat Phra Borommathat Ban Tak is a historic and culturally significant temple that serves as a spiritual landmark for Tak province. Established around the 18th Buddhist century (approx. 13th–14th century CE), it is located in Ko Taphao Subdistrict, Ban Tak District, Tak Province.
Wat Phra Borommathat is a public temple under the Mahanikaya sect of the Thai Sangha. In addition to the main temple grounds, the site houses the Wat Phra Borommathat Museum, which was constructed between 2001 and 2002.

• Zodiac Relic: It is the designated relic for those born in the Year of the Horse.
• Phra Borommathat Chedi: An octagonal Lanna-style pagoda modeled after the Shwedagon Pagoda in Myanmar. Phra Khru Phithak Borommathat (Thong Yu) constructed this structure to encase the original, resulting in a beautiful golden edifice.
• Sacred Objects: The temple houses "Luang Pho Than Chai," a Buddha image depicted in both the Meditation and Subduing Mara postures. It is a popular site for devotees to pray for blessings and fulfill vows.
• Important Tradition: The "Khuen That Duean Kao" (Ascending to the Relic in the Ninth Month) festival is held annually on the 14th and 15th days of the waxing moon of the ninth Northern lunar month.
• History: The temple stands on the site of the ancient city of Tak from the Sukhothai era, a location mentioned in the stone inscription of King Ramkhamhaeng.
