Wat Sakkawan is the site where a large number of dinosaur bones were discovered. These fossils are displayed within the temple pavilion, alongside an exhibition detailing the history and eras of dinosaurs. Additionally, dinosaur skeletons remain embedded in the ground at the foot of the hill within the temple grounds; these include the remains of approximately seven sauropods dating back to the Cretaceous period, around 130 million years ago.
