Doi Pha Phueng, Khun Sathan National Park, Nan Province | Nan
Doi Pha Phueng is located near Ban Mani Phruek in Ngop Subdistrict, Thung Chang District, Nan Province. It is a limestone mountain rising over 1,600 meters above sea level. Most of the area is covered in *Imperata* grass rather than large trees, giving it a landscape similar to Doi Phu Wae. It is a spectacular spot for viewing both sunrises and sunsets. Along the driving route, you can observe the lifestyles of local hill tribes—such as the Hmong, Thin, and Lua—as you pass by cabbage fields cultivated on the mountainsides, as well as orchards growing lychees, peaches, Asian pears, persimmons, plums (often called "mountain cherries"), and other cool-climate fruits.
