Lumphini Park
History: Originally known as "Thung Sala Daeng," it was used as a venue for the Royal Ploughing Ceremony. Later, during the reign of King Vajiravudh (Rama VI), the land was granted to be built as a public park for recreation.
It is a central Bangkok park, considered the lungs of the capital, with over 360 rai of green space.
Filled with large trees, shady lawns, and a large lake in the center of the park, it is open to the public for relaxation and various activities from early morning. This park began in an era when Bangkok did not have large public parks.
Today, it has become a popular area for those seeking quiet relaxation or participating in community exercise activities such as aerobics, running, and cycling. Especially during the cool mornings and evenings.
Currently, Lumpini Park is open daily.
It is located near Silom MRT station and Sala Daeng BTS station, making it easily accessible.
Getting there:
1. MRT Blue Line: Silom Station (Exit 1) or Lumpini Station (Exit 3)
2. BTS: Green Line: Sala Daeng Station (Exit 6) and then walk across the skywalk.
Location: Rama IV Road, Lumpini Subdistrict, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok. Surrounded by Rama IV Road, Ratchadamri Road, Witthayu Road, and Sarasin Road.
