“Uncle Ho’s House”: From the Shadow of Struggle to a Historical Tourist Attraction
-When mentioning "Uncle Ho’s House," many may think of the great leader of Vietnam. But in Nakhon Phanom Province, Uncle Ho’s House is more than that; it is a trace of history that connects the two countries.
-Uncle Ho’s House, or Ho Chi Minh’s House, is located in Na Chok Village, Mueang District, Nakhon Phanom Province. It is a Thai-Vietnamese style house that was once the refuge of Ho Chi Minh during the time he had to flee Vietnam to seek ways to regain independence for his homeland.
-This house was not just a residence, but also the center of planning and movements for the liberation of Vietnam. The villagers affectionately called Ho Chi Minh "Uncle Ho," and the house became known as "Uncle Ho’s House" from then on.
-Within the property are two houses. The first belongs to Ho Chi Minh’s comrades in the same ideology, where he initially stayed upon his arrival. The second house is where he later moved to. Currently, this house is well-maintained. It is open as a historical tourist attraction, showcasing the life and struggles of Ho Chi Minh, as well as various personal belongings he used.
