“Phra That La Nong” or “Phra That Klang Nam” is an ancient pagoda containing relics of the Buddha, several hundred years old. Previously, the pagoda was located on the riverbank within the grounds of Wat Phra That Nong Khai. However, in 1847, it was eroded by the river currents and ended up in the middle of the Mekong River.

In the book "Legend of Phra That Phanom" (Legend of Urangkhathat), one section mentions the construction of Phra That La Nong, stating that this stupa was built by five Arahants: Phra Maha Ratana Thera, Phra Chul Ratana Thera, Phra Maha Suwan Prasat Thera, Phra Chul Suwan Prasat Thera, and Phra Sanghavichai Thera. These five Arahants brought the Buddha's relics from India together and enshrined them in six locations:
1. Phra That Ho Pha Ho Phae, Laos

3. Phra Urangkhathat, at Phra That Phanom, Nakhon Phanom
4. Phra That Bangkhon, at Phra That Bang Phuan, Nong Khai
