Wat Kasem Sornaram, or "Wat Bang Chak" as it's known locally, is located in Amphawa Subdistrict (or Bang Chang Subdistrict), Amphawa District, Samut Songkhram Province, on the banks of the Mae Klong River. It's an old, privately owned temple built during the late Ayutthaya to early Rattanakosin periods. Originally, it was named "Wat Mai Ta Phet."
Ancient Structures: Inside the temple is an old Thai-style ordination hall with a wooden carving of Indra riding the elephant Erawan on the gable, and ancient murals believed to have been painted during the reign of King Rama V.
Points of Interest: Luang Pho To: A sacred Buddha statue enshrined within the temple, revered by locals and tourists alike. Riverside Atmosphere: Located near the Mae Klong River, the atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil. Ideal for making merit, paying respects to Buddha, and admiring ancient architecture.
