Racha Island, or Raya Island, is located south of Phuket and is divided into two islands: Koh Racha Yai (Big Racha Island) and Koh Racha Noi (Little Racha Island).
Koh Racha Yai is more popular because of its clean white sandy beaches and clear blue waters.
It has five bays: West Bay, Siam Bay, Tue Bay, Hla Bay, and Khon Kae Bay.
There are beautiful coral reefs for both shallow and deep diving, while Koh Racha Noi is more suitable for deep diving.
Attractions include: Patok Bay (West Bay): A horseshoe-shaped white sand beach with soft sand and clear water, perfect for walking or sunbathing. Siam Bay and Tue Bay: Peaceful bays, ideal for enjoying nature and
experience island life. Khon Kae Bay / Hla Bay: Snorkeling spots to see coral reefs and colorful fish.
Racha Island
Racha Island has clean white sandy beaches.
It has fine white sand beaches. The seawater around Racha Island is crystal clear, turquoise, and incredibly beautiful. Racha Island is approximately 15 kilometers from Phuket. The island has flat areas and hills. The locals cultivate coconut and fruit orchards. The flat areas near the sea have been partially developed by locals and investors into accommodations and restaurants for travelers. Racha Island has three bays: West Bay (or Patok Beach), Siam Bay, and Tue Bay. There are three diving spots around Racha Island: Kon Kae Bay, Hla Bay (the most beautiful diving spot), and Siam Bay. Currently, Racha Island has become one of the most famous diving destinations in the Andaman Sea. This is because the seawater around the island is clear year-round. The area around Racha Island boasts beautiful coral reefs and rare marine life unlike other diving spots, such as staghorn coral and various types of hard coral, sea eels, stingrays, pufferfish, and giant squid. Best time to visit: November to April – calm seas and clear water. Transportation: By speedboat. Or a yacht from Chalong Bay Pier, Phuket.
