Wat Sri Mongkol, also known as Wat Kong, is located in Yom Subdistrict, Tha Wang Pha District, Nan Province. It is an ancient temple that received a royal grant of land for its construction in 1852.
Currently, the abbot of Wat Sri Mongkol-Kong is Phra Khru Rangsi Thammanan, who has continued to develop the temple. Today, in addition to being a center for disseminating the teachings of the Buddha, it is also an important tourist attraction in Tha Wang Pha District due to the beauty of the temple and the surrounding scenery. Behind the temple is a viewpoint with stunning views of lush green rice fields and the complex mountain ranges of Doi Phu Kha.
Along the rice paddies, there is accommodation and the Hug Na Nan coffee shop. A bamboo bridge connects the temple to the rice paddies, allowing visitors to walk and take photos. The viewpoint area has been designed with several arches and viewpoints for taking pictures, as well as a coffee shop with a traditional Thai atmosphere for relaxation.
