Wat Phra Fang, or its full name, Wat Phra Fang Sawangkhaburimuninat, is located in Ban Fang, Uttaradit Province. This ancient temple dates back to the Sukhothai period, around 1700 CE. It is the only remaining historical site in the center of Fang Sawangkhaburi.
It houses the Phra Mahathat Chedi, which enshrines the Buddha's relics, as well as the Phra Fang Buddha image, a Mara-Vijaya Buddha image dressed in imperial regalia, from the Ayutthaya period. It is considered the most beautiful Buddha image in royal regalia in the world.
