Experience the ancient Thai pavilion from the Ayutthaya period at Wat Phra Khao.
The first stop is to pay homage and ask for blessings from "Luang Pho Phra Khao," the principal Buddha image enshrined in the ordination hall. This white stucco Buddha image, in the Mara-Vijaya posture, was built during the Ayutthaya period. It sits on a pedestal, measuring 2 meters wide and 2 meters 40 centimeters high. The name "Wat Phra Khao" comes from "Luang Pho Phra Khao."
Luang Pu Tim, a renowned Buddhist monk from the ancient capital, was born on Sunday, March 1, 1913, in Phra Khao Subdistrict, Bang Ban District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He became the abbot of Wat Phra Khao in 1955 and developed Wat Phra Khao into a prosperous temple. Luang Pu Tim passed away on March 22, 2009, at the age of 96, having spent 61 years as a monk. Although Luang Pu Tim had been dead for approximately 13 years,
