Wat Phanamthip Thepprasitwanaram | Roi Et Province

Phra Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol is one of the most beautiful and revered chedis in Thailand. It is revered and a source of pride for the people of Roi Et and the Isan region. Inside, the chedi houses the relics of the Lord Buddha, spanning six floors. It also houses the Vipassana Meditation Museum of Luang Pu Sri.
The Maha Chedi Chaimongkol is a blend of Central and Northeastern Thai architectural styles, resembling Phra Pathom Chedi and Phra That Phanom. The white chedi is decorated with dazzling brass patterns, surrounded by smaller chedis in eight directions. Each measures 101 meters wide, long, and high. Built on a 101-rai plot, the spire is crafted from 60 kilograms of gold.
The interior of the Maha Chedi Chaimongkol consists of six floors, each with its own unique decoration and function:
Floor 1: A large hall, used for meetings and merit-making.
Floor 2: A hall decorated with scenes depicting the life of the Buddha and intricate Thai motifs.
Floor 3: Enshrining 101 marble statues and figures of revered monks and venerable monks.
Floor 4: A museum showcasing the history and requisites of Luang Pu Sri Maha Wiro.
