Wat Phra That Renu | Nakhon Phanom Province

Wat Phra That Renu, located in Renu Nakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province, is the sacred chedi for Mondays. It is believed that those who pay homage will have skin as radiant as the moonlight. The chedi, a replica of Phra That Phanom, stands 35 meters high and 8.37 meters wide. Inside, it contains the Tripitaka, gold and silver Buddha images, and various valuables. The ubosot also houses Phra Ong Saen, a golden Buddha image in Lao style.
The sacred chedi of Renu Nakhon, Wat Phra That Renu is another chedi that replicates the architectural style of Phra That Phanom, but on a smaller scale. Inside, it contains the Tripitaka, gold and silver Buddha images, regalia belonging to the governors and rulers, and relics of the Lord Buddha. Inside, the ubosot houses Phra Ong Saen, a meditative Buddha image in Lao style, which is exquisitely elegant.
History and Characteristics Construction: Built in 1918 by Phra Upacharya Inphumyo, it was modeled after Phra That Phanom. But it is smaller.
