Wat Mai Plai Huai (Ban Plai Huai) | Phichit
Wat Mai Plai Huai was established in 1994 when Luang Pu Thongdi Anikho undertook the restoration of the site and developed it into a center for Dhamma practice. He also oversaw the construction of a sermon hall, monks' living quarters, an ordination hall (Ubosot), a pagoda, and various other structures.
Highlights within the temple grounds include statues of Luang Pu Thep Lok Udon, Luang Pu To Phrommarangsi, and Luang Pho Luea; the principal Buddha image in the ordination hall; a statue of Phaya Chalawan (the legendary crocodile king) in a meditative posture; the Pavilion of the Five Kings; and the Suwan Phichit Relic Pagoda—situated in the middle of a pond and adorned with white glass mosaic—which enshrines the Buddha's relics. Other notable features include the Phuttha Rattana Pagoda, Sri Phichit Pagoda, the King Ashoka the Great Pillar Courtyard, and the Luang Pho Tem Vihara (housing an ancient Buddha image over 1,500 years old, carved from petrified wood), as well as the Luang Pho Takhian Kaeo Vihara.
