Wat Tha Luang is a highly significant temple in Phichit and holds the status of a Third-Class Royal Monastery. It is renowned for its beautiful architecture and houses "Luang Pho Phet," the city's revered guardian Buddha image. This image—depicting the Buddha in the Subduing Mara posture and crafted in the early Chiang Saen style—is deeply venerated by the people of Phichit, who believe it has the power to dispel suffering and hardship.

Luang Pho Phet: A sacred bronze Buddha image in the Subduing Mara posture, created in the Chiang Saen artistic style over 800 years ago. It possesses exquisite features (lap width: 1.40 meters; height: 1.60 meters) and is enshrined within the main ordination hall (Ubosot) as the city's guardian deity.
Architecture and Features: In front of the ordination hall stands a pavilion dedicated to Thao Wessuwan, where the faithful can offer prayers. The area surrounding the hall is also decorated with sculptures of monkeys and giants from the Ramakien epic, depicted holding spotlights.
