Wat Chiang Man is a temple located on Ratchaphakinai Road, Si Phum Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It houses the Phra Setangkhamani and Phra Sila, a Buddha image subduing the elephant Nalagiri, enshrined in the viharn.
Wat Chiang Man is a bit further out, via Chang Phueak Gate. Therefore, it is recommended to take a red truck for a more convenient trip. Wat Chiang Man, located on Ratchaphakinai Road, Mueang District, is the oldest temple in Chiang Mai, dating back to the city's earliest days.
The ubosot (ordination hall) is of great significance to the people of Chiang Mai. The front hall houses the Wat Chiang Man stone inscription, which records the founding of Chiang Mai and the history of the temple. The Wat Chiang Man stone inscription and the elephant-encircled chedi are also included.
