This is an important historical site in Thailand. It is a Mahayana Buddhist religious site approximately 1,000 years old, built during the ancient Khmer Empire.

Phimai Historical Park is the largest ancient Khmer stone castle in Thailand (Baphuon style), built between the 16th and 18th Buddhist centuries. Its highlights include the main white sandstone prang (tower) and the Naga Bridge.
