Pattani Provincial Central Mosque Aneru, Muang District | Pattani
Surrounding an area of 3 rai and 55 square wah, it is also known as the "Thailand's Taj Mahal." It is the most beautiful mosque in Thailand. Built in 1954, Police General Phao Sriyanon, Minister of the Interior, laid the foundation stone on July 6, 1957, and was inaugurated by Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat on May 25, 1963. It was named the "Pattani Central Mosque." The government, recognizing the importance of Islam, which the majority of Pattani residents adhere to religiously, deemed it appropriate to construct a large mosque.
Currently, the Pattani Central Mosque serves as a major religious center, hosting the five daily prayers, including Friday prayers and Lunar New Year prayers. Many Thai Muslims from Pattani, as well as Muslims from other areas, both domestic and international, attend. Dhamma lectures are especially held on Fridays and Saturdays, enhancing knowledge and understanding of the principles of the religion. To ensure the correctness of religious practices, a large number of people attended.
Visiting Hours: Open daily from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Except Fridays, which are the day of weekly prayers. Dress appropriately.
